The 15-Minute City

 The 15-Minute City

Happy first day of summer!

I just finished reading the book: The 15-Minute City by Carlos Moreno

Few thoughts about it:

  • It is the third of a urbanism kind of books for me reading after the: Cities for People by Jan Gehl and Walkable City by Jeff Speck.
  • I am bachelor of economics, with specialization if real property economics,  which includes topics related to the books abovementioned. I learned lots of theories about urban planning, territorial development, urban economics, architectural planning and construction etc.
  • Living in a small, big, middle size urban areas always bring me tension to my mind with questions: Why is that like this, How this route can be optimized, Where are the people? and many more.
  • This book gives plenty of very thoughtful and proven techniques and approaches for improving our live in the cities.
  • The book concept of the proximity is a catchy and attractive. I hope more people learn and try to implement it in the territories where we live, work and enjoy.
  • I stay curious about big themes of the future like: humanism, climate change, prosperity, sustainability, livability, equality, which also the The 15-Minute City book covers.
I highly recommend the book because of the value in it. The movement that brings to the world, the connections already developed and speeded trough the city authorities, leaders and all kind of professionals.
