How Bulgaria Translate (in time of war)
A recent call between the Bulgarian Minister of Defense and the US Secretary of Defense catches my attention.
The official tweet from the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III
I spoke with my Bulgarian counterpart @DragomirZakov to discuss Russia’s unprovoked war against Ukraine, the unified @NATO response, and our collective imperative to assist the Ukrainian people. Our bilateral strategic partnership has never been stronger. #WeAreNATO pic.twitter.com/TJjl1oJBqC

The difference from the original English statement is only ONE WORD - "multinational" which somehow is missing in Bulgarian translation.
When I first saw and read it I was confused about what and where is coming that "battle group on its soil"?
Then I searched for the original information and compare it.
Now I know that the missing word "multinational" explains my confusion.
Maybe it's a nuance in expressions of the meaning, maybe not?
Here are the sentences into the two texts:
P.S. One more thing Bulgarian Armed Forces did not use the hashtag #WeAreNATO in their statements on social media.
Notes: Bulgaria is a partner in NATO, but did not want troops from NATO on its soil - said once the recently fired Minister of Defense. We will see what the new ones will decide...
14 March update: The conversation described with a tweet - red-underlined are the missing words from the Bulgarian message.
16 March update: Bulgarian Armed Fores Facebook's page started using the hashtag #WeAreNATO
Tip: That is few days after the US Secretary of Defense decides to visit Bulgaria.
