The mania of having a dog
In recent few years, I am seeing a growing expansion of one "product":
Having a dog.
What is it for?
First I started watching how this trend became more and more popular all over Bulgaria.
The rich people use their dogs for showing how powerful are they.
To distinguish from others.
To pretend for a status level.
They spent thousands of money to buy one little or big dog, and say to all of their acquaintances for that purchase.
Then the mania gets to the masses...
Everyone started buying dogs for fun or to look like a celebrity or one of their loved influencers with the same dog.
Nowadays...
I walk down the streets of Sofia in my neighborhood and:
- Met abandoned dogs on every corner, hungry and angry...
- Met dog owners that do not clean after them...
- Find out that big dogs are living in small apartments...
I know that having a dog "fills a gap" in the human psyche.
Are all these dogs happy?
I am looking at their eyes I see one thing... desperation.
